Director of Residential Services
About the Job:
Gladney is looking for an experienced Director of Residential Services to oversee daily operations of the General Residential Operation (GRO) including support, consultation and supervision regarding client and staff issues as well as client plan development. The Director of Residential Services has responsibility for ensuring the quality, efficiency, regulatory compliance, and daily operations of the GRO. The Residential Director will be responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing a high-quality vision. This position will serve as the agency’s (primary) Licensed Child Care Administrator (LCCA) or will have the ability to become licensed as the LCCA within one year of employment. The LCCA is responsible for ensuring that licensing standards and contract requirements are met for both direct care and case management for youth utilizing trauma informed therapeutic practices in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment. This position must be an influential manager with the ability to lead and motivate.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan the program
• Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with Gladney’s mission, vision, and values.
• Develop new initiatives to support the organization's strategic direction, as directed by the Chief Program Officer.
• Develop and implement objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the applicable programs, enhancing the lives of clients.
• Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program(s) and to identify areas for improvement.
• Maintain budgets to ensure the delivery of high-quality support to the applicable programs.
• Ensure program operations and activities adhere to the licensing guidelines and internal policies.
• Evaluate program practices to reach maximum efficiency for the program.
• Assist in creating and promoting a trauma informed environment for staff and residents.
Organize the program
• Ensure the clients remain the central focus of all activities.
• Ensure the program activities are organized with tools and support to achieve optimal performance.
• Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of Gladney as well as licensing requirements and professional standards.
• Develop, with input from staff, processes to document program activities, goals, and outcomes of success.
Oversight of the program
• Enhance channels of regular communication between supervisors and direct support professionals.
• In concert with the VP of Residential Services, monitor and approve all budgeted program expenditures.
• Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks while ensuring clients and staff attain their targeted goals.
• Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct periodic evaluations to assess their impact on the overall program framework.
• Collaborate with program supervisors through coaching regarding supervision of employees: including work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of personnel actions, and motivating employees to build upon their strengths to enhance quality supports regarding needed employee coaching and communication to assure the program integrity and success.
• Collect and report monthly metrics and additional evaluation findings with the VP of Residential Services and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate.
• Participate in long-term strategic and operational planning.
• Ensure 24/7 emergency and after-hour on-call coverage for childcare services.
• Ensure adequate staffing and supervision to meet the needs of youth.
• Provide regular communication to Leadership about serious incidents, personnel issues, and staffing.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with agency Licensing Representative and Contract Managers.
• Oversee residents’ intake and discharge process. Screen and assess possible new admissions into the program.
Lead the Program Supervisors and Case Managers
• Manage program supervisors and case managers by providing direction, input, and feedback.
• Working with Human Resources, take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with Gladney policy.
• Ensure all employees receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards.
• Provide skills and tools for supervisors and case managers to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
• Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
• Provide oversight of Case Management services to ensure quality case management services that meet all licensing and contract requirements.
• Conduct weekly meetings to review weekly goals and expectations for facility and residents’ program progression with Case Managers.
• Oversee compliance of residents’ records and assist the Case Managers with licensing
