Medically Fragile
At this time, we are not accepting applications for this program.
Every year in the U.S., medically fragile infants are born every day. Sometimes the expectant mother was already in the process of making an adoption plan. Other times, because the infant was born medically fragile, the birth mother decides she is not emotionally or financially capable of taking care of this child.
Because Gladney believes that every child deserves a loving home, Gladney has an adoption program for infants with non-correctable medical and/or congenital conditions. These situations arise on a limited basis, and fees are largely underwritten by Gladney fund-raising efforts.
Applicant criteria are based on the needs of the child. If you believe that you are called to adopt a medically fragile child, please request Gladney’s free adoption information packet. After reviewing the packet, click on the Submit Pre-Application link, and select that you are open to a Domestic Infant with non-correctable medical conditions.
Fees:
Gladney Application Fee - Waived
Gladney Home Study Fee - $1,500
Gladney Program Fee - $6,500
Gladney Post-Placement Supervisory Visit Fee (min. 2 visits) - $150 ea.
Finalization of Adoption - $1,500 (estimate)
